Oxfam wanted guests at an exclusive fundraising dinner to see Syrian refugees as individuals, rather than statistics, creating a personal emotional connection that would translate into donations. This take-home brochure made the link. The design emphasises refugees as individuals with whom donors share emotional common ground, despite radically different circumstances. Strong but delicate headlines pick out colours from the images, reinforcing them while ensuring that the stars of the piece remain the Syrian people themselves. The brochure helped the event exceed targets, raising £135,000 to support families forced to flee their homes.
